Get outside and see what’s living around you!
Join Corrianne, our Program Director, experienced field guide, and advanced naturalist (current President of the Alberta Lepidopterists' Guild and Education Coordinator for the Alberta Amphibian and Reptile Conservancy), for a 2-hour wildlife spotting and identification excursion.
She and our other animal experts will lead you on a 2-hour adventure through a natural area, looking for, identifying, and learning about the wildlife we encounter along the way. Our specialty is pond dipping for aquatic invertebrates and amphibians, where a seemingly ordinary pond can quickly turn into a whole hidden world of discovery!
Great for summer camps, outdoor programs, and groups who want to get curious about their local wildlife.
When booking, please provide your study site so that we can review habitat viability. Transportation is not included, though if it’s walkable, we’d love to walk there with you!

For big groups and public events
Turn your celebration or special event into a living, breathing wildlife exhibit with a pop-up display exhibit designed with animal ethics in mind.
Our presenters set up a visual display of live animals and natural history specimens, creating an interactive attraction that guests can explore, and visit at their own pace. We’ll chat with visitors, answer questions, share fascinating facts, and facilitate animal encounters where appropriate.
This is a drop-in experience rather than a structured presentation, so interactions are informal and animal handling is not guaranteed. It’s a great fit for festivals, community events, conferences, markets, open houses, and other large gatherings where you want something genuinely unusual for guests to discover.
Please reach us at bugs@butterflyab.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Evening, weekend and summer events all start at $244 per hour with a 1 hour minimum.

Please provide your phone number as an emergency contact and include clear parking and access instructions. Our presenter arrives approximately 15 minutes early to park, check in, unload, and set up. This format is for big groups in open settings, it is not a presentation, instead being a pop up booth/exhibit style display your guests can flow through. We will do a visual display at a table, and can interface with the public as they visit us. Animal encounters will occur, but not on a structured or comprehensive scale as they do in a class presentation/field trip. Interactions are not necessarily one-on-one, no specific handling is guaranteed. Crowd control is necessary.

Maximum booking of 4 hours
