About Us
Living Science Projects & Programs
Since 2000, we've been working to connect people and nature by developing education and conservation-oriented projects and programs. Our flagship project, the Caterpillar rearing kits, are a staple of the life cycle unit in curricula across Canada. We also offer composting kits (red wiggler worms and isopods), praying mantis, and butterflies for release: with everything, we strive for a hands-on, environmentally ethical approach.
Without the interest of future generations, thousands of species are in danger of disappearing forever.
Native Species Specialists
We are located in Amiskwaciy-wâskahikan (Edmonton, Alberta), on Treaty 6 Territory, and we focus on relationships with the animals who are here, and who were here first. Our animals are all housed in our laboratory, never caught from the wild. We believe in looking closer, not further, to fall in love with our world: we love to share our passion for backyard friends and local wildlife.
